Unlce Sam n' More

So it seems I only do 4th of July crafts, which is totally NOT true. It's just taken me this long to actually get back to my blog to update. Life gets too busy and I work on a computer all day, so I am not too excited about doing computer work at home, I would rather do crafts. I am going to post as often as my crafts get done.

I saw this Uncle Sam on Craft Goodies blog and I loved it, so I had to try my own. Hers looks much better and I am sure she used thinner wood. I was scrounging around my garage trying to find any wood cause I didn't want to run to the store ;)

I think he turned out pretty good! He is a bit top heavy due to the thicker wood, so I made him as a hanger instead of a sitting block.

I've seen this flag going around and it looked pretty cute so I got some more scrap wood, cut them evenly into strips, painted, sanded and distressed them, and did the same to the star. This is a hanging decoration as well. I like things on the walls.
